Current work
Partnership-funded initiatives support action on Peoples-specific, self-determined priorities
The Partnership has committed over $24 million toward the development of Peoples-specific, First Nations, Inuit and Métis cancer plans in each province and territory. By 2022, First Nations, Inuit and Métis partners, in collaboration with cancer agencies/programs, will implement these plans to improve the cancer journey for First Nations, Inuit and Métis.
The Partnership is providing funds to 29 partners, who are collectively working with over 130 First Nations, Inuit and Métis governments, organizations, and community partners.
First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities reached through the 2018-2022 initiative
More than 500 First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities will benefit from the system changes resulting from the creation and implementation of People-specific, self-determined cancer plans. Beyond the funding period, these cancer plans will continue to guide action to improve the cancer journey for First Nations, Inuit and Métis.
