The Future of Cancer Control in Canada: feedback deadline extended

French discussion paper available on proposed strategic direction beyond 2012

Last month the Canadian Partnership Against Cancer released The Future of Cancer Control in Canada discussion paper to help identify innovative ways to collaborate to further our progress in advancing Canada’s cancer control strategy. The Partnership invited feedback and the deadline has now been extended to May 1, 2011. In addition, the discussion paper is also now available online in French.

The Future of Cancer Control discussion paper synthesizes what the Partnership has heard to date about the organization’s role in pan-Canadian cancer control, lessons learned over the past four years, and potential future priorities for 2012-2017. It was prepared to support ongoing dialogue about building on the progress we’ve collectively made in advancing cancer control through the implementation of Canada’s cancer control strategy. The document also highlights potential strategic themes that could shape the course of action for the next five years.

Through targeted meetings and written input that has been submitted , the Partnership has begun to receive feedback that will help us to better understand future opportunities the Partnership is best positioned to enable and advance, and to refine and prioritize the proposed outcomes and opportunities as we develop a strategic plan for 2012-2017. We welcome further input to this process. To assist you in providing feedback, consultation questions are available to guide your review of the discussion paper. Feedback may be submitted to strategy@partnershipagainstcancer.ca by May 1, 2011.
