Cancer Prevention and Screening Consulting Services
The Partnership is an evidence-based organization with strong federal/provincial/territorial/regional and First Nations, Inuit and Métis partnerships focused on furthering the priorities of the Canadian Strategy for Cancer Control including work related to the prevention and screening of cancers. To better understand opportunities and barriers to closing remaining gaps in HPV vaccination, and furthering innovative approaches to cancer screening in Canada, the Partnership requires an experienced Proponent to:
- provide strategic advice on pan-Canadian readiness and openness to consider risk-based approaches to screening including strengthening the development and execution of a pan-Canadian engagement strategy and plan and developing strategic recommendations for future phases of work.
- provide strategic advice on cancer prevention and elimination of cervical cancer modelling and data analyses from OncoSim and other relevant sources to support prevention content in Road to Recovery and Elimination of Cervical Cancer knowledge products and engagement efforts.
Objectives/Purpose
Risk-based screening
The purpose of this work is to consider pan-Canadian receptivity to risk-based approaches to screening and emerging screening innovations to advance equitable, high-quality screening programs and develop recommendations based on partner priorities to inform subsequent phases of work.
Cancer prevention modelling/Data analysis
The purpose of this work is to inform modelling and data analyses related to cancer prevention as well as the elimination of cervical cancer to update Road to Recovery content and prepare for engagement of key decision-makers. This work will drive accountability for implementation of the Action Plan for the Elimination of Cervical Cancer in Canada.
Project scope
Risk-based screening
In collaboration with key members of the Partnership team, for up to ~ 1 day per month, the Proponent will:
- Participate in virtual planning calls and meetings with the Partnership and external partners on an as needed basis.
- Provide strategic guidance and expert advice to inform a pan-Canadian engagement plan with the goal of understanding readiness, priorities, and opportunities for risk-based screening.
- Provide strategic guidance and advice to support the execution of the pan-Canadian engagement plan
- Provide written and/or verbal feedback on draft materials.
- Develop a high-level recommendation document summarizing the output from the pan-Canadian engagement, including current state, priorities, and proposed next steps.
Cancer prevention modelling/Data analysis
In collaboration with key members of the Partnership team, for up to ~1 day per month, the Proponent will:
- Participate in monthly virtual meetings with the Partnership for the duration of the project, and ad hoc virtual meetings as needed.
- Provide strategic guidance and expert advice to inform modelling and data analyses using OncoSim and other sources to develop and finalize prevention Road to Recovery content.
- Provide strategic guidance and expert advice to inform modelling and data analyses using OncoSim and other sources to develop and finalize modelling for Elimination of Cervical Cancer Summit.
- Provide written and/or verbal feedback on draft analyses and materials.
- Participate in Elimination of Cervical Cancer Implementation Group Meeting in March 2023, Elimination of Cervical Cancer Summit in November 2023, and other relevant Partnership advisory meetings as appropriate to inform the project.
