Consultant, Change Management Communications

This opportunity is for independent consultants only. The successful consultant will sign a vendor services agreement with the Partnership. Consultants are not considered Partnership employees.

Overview

The Partnership’s Communications team requires support for internal and external change communications. Part of the work includes change management planning to support the executive leadership team (ELT) as it works with a business consultant to refresh the business strategy over the next year, followed by the implementation of the recommendations. There are additional change management communications needs related to CPAC’s people and culture initiatives, including work supporting diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) and corporate services IT projects.

General requirements

  • Change communications plans and execution across a variety of work initiatives
  • Specific to the work to refresh CPAC’s business strategy, support for the ELT Working Group to plan and execute change engagement and communications, including:
    • Advising on staff engagement at set points in development of change plans
    • Supporting engagement efforts with messaging and other materials
    • Writing key messaging, FAQs and executive presentations
    • Integrating with the Partnership communications on timing of messaging and announcements
    • Participating with the ELT working group on regular calls to provide change management counsel and to inform the change management communications work
    • Liaising with the business consultant to advise on communications plans and provide change management communications needs
    • Undertaking assignments on change communications to support people and culture projects, DEI work and corporate services change initiatives

Application requirements

The application should be brief (2-3 pages) and include:

  • a brief statement demonstrating the understanding of the topic, need, or approach to be taken to develop a work plan, including ability to meet estimated monthly work hours description of experience in change management and change management communications
  • show experience with projects of a similar nature (work samples/descriptions)
  • description of consultative approach to projects of a similar nature
  • approach to delivery of work as sole practitioner
  • Financial Proposal: budget model to accommodate numbers of hours required

Terms of contract

  • The successful consultant will be hired on a contract basis for a 12-month term with option of extension from October 2024 – October 2025.
  • The incumbent will be able to commit on average 20-25 hours per week (equivalent of 2-3 days per week), with an understanding that workload will vary depending on the phase of the work. The incumbent must be able to attend meetings with the Partnership and other contracted consultants during business hours at times mutually agreed upon.
